obstetrician gynecologist

You have decided to get pregnant.  This is a wonderful thing but can be very challenging. You can’t just go to sleep and wake up pregnant the following morning. It’s not that it won’t happen but you may already know that it may be more than just that. Many women try for months upon months to get pregnant.

If you want to get pregnant remembering that it is a gradual process is very important. If you try too hard at getting pregnant you may get too worried about it and cause your body to become counterproductive.

You should first see a doctor or an obstetrician/gynecologist. You should ensure that all is well with your body before getting pregnant. You will not be taking any fertility test at this stage. Your objective is to do a pelvic exam in order to ensure that your health is in good condition.

As soon as you have gotten a go ahead from a doctor you should then examine your diet. You should begin to eat right from this point on. A balanced nutritious diet is good for you. Eat plenty of fresh fruits andvegetables. Also eat foods which have folic acid in them. You should also let your partner eat the same foods in order to ensure that his sperm is healthy.

Drink plenty of water and stop drinking caffeine. If you’re a smoker you should immediately quit. Under no circumstance should you be drinking alcohol and doing drugs.

Working on the timing is your next goal. You should start a chart in order to improve your chances of getting the perfect timing. Free charts may be downloaded from the internet. Make it a habit to chart the data you have. If you so happen to think you need to do a fertility test later on this will come in very handy to the doctors when giving you a diagnosis.

To begin your charting, your body’s temperature should be taken on the first day of your menstrual cycle and the following morning as well before you start to do anything else. This reading will be more precise. Your body temperature will start to increase the day after your ovulation. At such a point you should notice an increase of approximately 4°C.

As soon as ovulation has been pinpointed, you can do the groundwork. Start having sex several times during the week before ovulation and then 1 to 2 days following. Drinking plenty of water will help you to increase the amount of cervical fluid you have.

Ovulation kits may also be bought in order to help predict your ovulation time. However, they are rather costly. It is important for you to enjoy this time that you are using to give new life.
